Join UKAI, ReGenerate and Silverstone Communications for an AI and Skills lunch - Local Government Association Conference Fringe Event

Organised by UKAI, in partnertship with Silverstone Communications and ReGenerate this Local Government Association Conference fringe lunch, Responsible AI, Hidden Talent, and Local Prosperity, will convene local employers, UKAI members, ReGenerate partners and invited stakeholders to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can support inclusive local growth, good work and community prosperity. The event will also be covered by media partners Chamber UK and Politics UK.

The roundtable will move beyond a narrow AI skills conversation and focus on how responsible AI adoption can help local authorities, combined authorities and employers build more adaptive labour markets, strengthen routes into work for hidden talent groups, and support people and places to thrive.

Discussion will explore how AI can support human flourishing, dignity, social cohesion and local prosperity, with particular attention to young people not in education, employment or training, young people facing mental health challenges, ex-offenders, care leavers and others who face barriers to good work.

The session will include a working lunch, informal networking, short framing remarks, a visioning exercise, practical case studies and a co-design discussion focused on the interventions that could be tested over the next 3 to 6 months. Participants will consider how local government and employers can work together on responsible AI adoption, inclusive employment, workforce transition and place-based economic resilience.

The roundtable aims to build shared understanding, identify practical collaboration opportunities, and support future outputs, including potential pilot ideas and a post-event white paper or action paper on responsible AI, workforce transition and local prosperity.

Attendance is by invitation only and registration is required.

UKAI members, guests of Silverstone Communications and ReGenerate and Local Government Association Conference delegates will receive priority entry.
