Members Briefing: Initial Insights and Questions
What the Burnham Government Means for AI
With Andy Burnham now installed as Prime Minister and Kanishka Narayan appointed as the UK's first cabinet-level AI Minister, the policy landscape for AI in Britain is shifting fast. Join us for a UKAI members-only session unpacking what's changed so far, including the dissolution of DSIT, the reshuffling of AI functions across Business, Innovation, Science and Trade and Culture, Media and Sport, and early signals on sovereignty, procurement and industrial strategy. We'll be joined by Mike Potter, former Government Chief Digital Officer, and Matt Warman, former AI Minister, to explore the implications for the sector and what might come next over the longer term.
Please note these are initial insights rather than settled conclusions. There is still a lot we don't yet know, and part of the session's purpose is to surface the right questions, some of which we'll aim to take away and get answered.
