The finalists

Finalists are listed in alphabetical order.

digiLab Solutions

Nominated by Josephine Muncaster, digiLab Solutions

digiLab, a university spin-out, builds the Uncertainty Engine, a platform that shows engineers how far they can trust the results of their simulations and test data. It can run in secure, self-hosted environments.

It focuses on safety-critical sectors such as nuclear fission and fusion, defence and aerospace. It has worked with UKAEA and Airbus, is piloting with Rolls-Royce SMR, and its team of about 45 people is based in the UK.

Judges' analysis

The judges saw digiLab as having the strongest sovereign case in the category: distinctive deep technology giving UK-controlled assurance for some of the country's most critical engineering decisions.

Enlighty.ai

Nominated by Angela Stathi, Office for Investment

London-headquartered Enlighty.ai continuously measures real consumer behaviour from social media, forums and online shopping in more than 100 languages, using more than 30 validated models. It is now building calibrated "synthetic" consumer populations so businesses can test decisions before acting on them.

Founded in September 2025, it already works with 18 enterprise customers in 14 countries, and BP's Castrol has expanded its contract eight-fold. Its team of 15 includes seven PhDs.

Judges' analysis

The judges were impressed by exceptional commercial progress in its first year, backed by strong evidence and a research-led team.

Passion Labs

Nominated by Salome Tirado, Passion Labs

Passion Labs is a London AI research lab, founded in September 2024, whose PhD-level scientists build custom AI systems for complex or sensitive problems. That work is now becoming products: Passion OS for teams of AI agents working on a client's own data, and Passion LM for privately deployed language models, including fully offline.

It has deployed close to 100 systems for clients including BBC Studios, Frontier Agriculture and CareTech. FarmGPT, built with DEFRA and Innovate UK, has improved agricultural decision-making fivefold. The company is self-funded and has grown from two to 12 people.

Judges' analysis

The judges recognised remarkable momentum for a two-year-old company, with nearly 100 systems in production for named clients and fast, self-funded growth.

Swift Mobile Solutions (Swiftcom)

Widely

Nominated by Shmaya Reichman, Swift Mobile Solutions

Manchester-based Swift Mobile Solutions runs a full mobile network operator with just five UK staff by building AI into coding, customer support, network operations and administration. It estimates the business would otherwise need 15 to 20 people.

Its consumer app Widely, offering calls, local numbers and pay-as-you-go travel data, launched in August 2026 and within weeks had more than 1,600 users in over 50 countries. Swiftcom offers the same platform to other operators and businesses.

Judges' analysis

The judges recognised a distinctive AI-native way of running a telecoms business, with precise, clearly reported results from a fast launch.

Trusted

Nominated by Paul Button, Trusted

Trusted uses AI to find a business's best customers, match the right customer advocate to each sales opportunity and measure the effect on sales. It works through AI assistants that support the MCP standard.

Founded in April 2025, it gained SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 security certification before launch. Since launching in June 2026 it has signed customers including Moody's, TeamViewer and Fortinet.

Judges' analysis

The judges saw Trusted as showing the strongest commercial momentum in the category for its age, with global enterprise customers and independent security certification in place from the start.
